The arts have a special place at the PTA National Convention. Convention attendees celebrate students’ accomplishments in the Reflections Program—and the hard work of the volunteers at all levels who make the program a success—through an awards ceremony at one of the general meetings. During this awards ceremony, the PTA national president recognizes the six national Outstanding Interpretation Award recipients, who are invited to perform or show their award-winning pieces and talk about how their works were inspired by the theme.
Convention’s annual Arts in Education Luncheon, featuring performances by local students and a featured guest, highlights the importance of speaking up for the arts.
